I know I'm late to the party but the Jayvik brainrot is REAL. Modern AU where Jayce is a physical therapist who falls hard and fast for his new patient, a brilliant, disabled young artist named Viktor.
previously published under the title "Close to Me", I decided to change it and name it after one of my favorite TV shows! Music is a huge part of my writing process and each chapter will have a specific song that goes along with it (Spotify playlist here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6Dvo5m1zJn1kq6Qpzex1qJ?si=YOrplxIuToqok0NBhZng3g ). There are also BONUS SONGS for some of the chapters, I will list them in the notes

Summary
It felt like one sick joke.
One sick, cosmic joke.
Some kind of…fatalistic comeuppance that spewed forth from the unknowns of the Arcane, suckerpunching Jayce Talis right in the throat just when he thought he repented his sins, just when he thought he saved the world and his partner, just when he thought he’d been given the one thing he wanted desperately above all else.
All I want is my partner back.
Only for Viktor to break Jayce’s heart in a single strike:
“Viktor…
Is that my name?”
or,
In the aftermath of surviving the arcane, Viktor loses his memories. Jayce tries to weave them together, but even memories bruise and wilt.

Its face, gaunt and sickly pale, beared two hideous moles and a crooked nose. The musculature of its body was exposed and an unnatural color, deep indigo like a frozen corpse. As he spotted the open waters of the marsh ahead of him, Jayce braced himself for the horrible visage."
Or: Jayce vows to kill the witch that terrorizes his village, but finds a man made of pure magic who fascinates him to no end, and can't stop his curiosity from taking him somewhere no one has dared go before.

“I do not recall telling you my name.” Viktor stated matter-of-factly. “Yet you know it. Have we met?” Yes. Many times. Practically lived together inside their lab, but he couldn’t tell Viktor that. No, this Viktor had no idea who Jayce really was, and he intended on keeping it that way.
Jayce stumbled on his own thoughts trying to find an answer. Shit. Viktor is right, he wasn’t supposed to tell Jayce his name until later in his apartment. Damn it. “Uh—“ he stalled as he tried to think of a lie. “H-Heimerdinger had mentioned you once. You’re his assistant, right? Snarky Undercity kid with an accent? Not many other people here who fit that description.”

After the Hexcore collapsed, Jayce gets sent back to where it all started, the day he met Viktor, but Viktor seems to have no recollection of him. What happens when Jayce gets another chance, knowing what he knows now.
My take on Season 2 Jayce with Season 1 Viktor until Viktor eventually remembers everything and they live happily ever after because I refuse to give these two any more sad endings!
No idea how many chapters this will have, we're just gonna roll with it until the dopamine stops.

Viktor bit the back of his palm in pleasure, his coyote teeth easily breaking his own skin. Jayce let up on him for a moment and admonished him, “Don’t do that, Viktor. I want to hear you. Let me hear what you sound like submitting for what you eat.”
