"I don't know," he said, his voice tight. "Maybe because they're full of racists and homophobes. Do you even understand what I'm saying? Or have you become so white you forgot your own language?"

Summary
Svetlana always thought her happy ending included Ilya Rozanov and a white picket fence home in the Boston suburbs. Well, maybe not a white picket fence home but you get the idea. Too bad Ilya seems to be ready to build his future in Canada.
Ilya has screwed up many times before but this definitely takes the cup. He is in the verge of losing the love of his life and his best friend. After a month in Shane’s cottage, a surprised visit threatens to destroy the future Shane has offered him.
Shane is finally feeling chosen, there is a lot of work to do still but they are on the right track. The news are a blunder to all his plans and he is left wondering what can be made of the wreckage.

This is my first fic and my take on “What if Svetlana gets pregnant?” Featuring a Shane that finds his dignity and a Svetlana that is not as wise or perceptive as she normally is made out to be.
