Summary
Nearly a year after the events of spider-verse, the spider gang find themselves captured and turned into living experiments by Doc Ock. She wants revenge for what they did to her super collider, and the best way to get it is to degrade them to simple minded lizards and study them.
The thing is, they aren't actually simple minded. They have retained their human minds, and must hide their intelligence until they grow big enough to escape.
Now they have to navigate the world in unfamiliar bodies while also trying to do their jobs as spider people.

It shouldn’t be secondary nature to breathe and consume, to snack and eat the moondust coating the land and infusing with the creatures, and if he had been anybody else, perhaps he would already be dead. But no, he just feels full.
Not uncomfortably full. As the Abyss fizzles out, Illuga feels like he’s just at maximum capacity, instead of satiated.
Illuga feels powerful.

Somehow, Kaveh knew Lessor Lord Kusanali had died without ever seeing it for himself. But, as he, Alhaitham, Cyno, and Tighnari were racing to Lessor Lord Kusanali’s location he got an overwhelming feeling.
Then, he appears in front of Irminsul and Lesser Lord Kusanali stands in front of him, "This must be a lot for you, becoming an Archon” She looks at him with guilty eyes, “To be honest, I was unsure about doing this but I decided to stand with my resolve.”
Or
Nahida dies and chooses Kaveh as the next Dendro Archon but following her death Kaveh immediately gets thrown into her work and on top of that needs to uncover the discrepancies surrounding her death with Wanderer as his assistant.
