Having established himself in Kivotos, Duke felt that he had a pretty good thing going. Paperwork flowed like water, Schale was getting more and more applicants by the day, and some glaring citywide issues were finally being addressed. Life was good.
Then a girl, bloody and broken, in a uniform he can't identify, stumbles into Schale. She hands him a desperate plea for help and then collapses, because of course she does. Guess it's off to Trinity...and whatever is underneath it, then!

After four years in juvenile detention, Sunny returns to Faraway Town expecting guilt, awkward reunions, unresolved trauma, and maybe some well-deserved yelling.
Instead, he finds out that The Pink Demon runs the Hooligans, The Orange Hurricane leads the Orange Dudes and keeps appearing out of nowhere to challenge him like a recurring boss fight, Mr. Bossman somehow controls half the town through the Bakers and their bread-based diplomacy, the Sweet Pinks have turned candy and gossip into political weapons, and the Florist knows way too many secrets.
The beginning is serious, prison-adjacent, and a little longer than planned. My bad.
