“I really am sorry,” MJ said, “that I don’t remember.”
“It’s not your fault,” Peter said automatically, “not at all. It’s not not my fault, like I said, but it’s definitely not your fault.”
She nodded, and, still smiling but less sadly, reached back out and rested a tentative hand on his shoulder. He nearly shivered as she smoothed her thumb along the seam of his suit, where red-black nylon met pale, freckled skin.
“I think I like you better, out from behind the curtain,” she said, and if he hadn’t known her so well, he wouldn’t have noticed the fondness in her tone — but he did know her, even if it had been four years, and he did notice, and it made his heart ache.
Peter takes a blow while out on patrol, and stumbles back to his apartment, bleeding and tired, to find MJ waiting at his door.

“How?” He asked in between choking sobs, breaking away to stare at her in disbelief, laying his trembling hands over her shoulders. She looked younger than he remembered, her face softer, her hair fuller; she, too, was neither bloodied nor wounded. “Am I — dead?”
“You don’t sound nearly as concerned about that as you should be, Peter,” May said sadly, cupping his tearful face in her palms and brushing a stray curl away from his forehead. "But no, you're not. You're . . . in between, right now.”
Or: when Peter gets shot, he's inches from death, and reunites with someone that he thought he had lost forever.

Hunter can never really take a break from being the Golden Guard- not that he'd ever want to! He is a completely normal, emotionally adjusted child soldier who couldn't possibly want for anything more than he already has.
A few weeks after the events of Any Sport in a Storm, Hunter goes on a pleasant flight with Flapjack, fights a tree (and loses), and plays it incredibly cool when he has a chance encounter with Captain Willow Park right after.
...Blood? What Blood? Hunter is totally fine!
