And so begins the habit of spending sleepless nights with Lotor and realizing there's more to the prince than he'd originally thought.

The hatch on the ship opens and Lotor feels a thrill at the thought of seeing Keith again. After Keith had saved his life at the Kral Zera, Keith had disappeared from the planet without a word, leaving behind only the bruises Lotor had gained from Keith’s tackle.
Keith returns to the Castle with Krolia, and Lotor helps him come to terms with what that means

Summary
Keith didn’t know he was beautiful.
When he looked in the mirror, he saw straggly hair, sharp edges, a rough past. He saw scars, tired eyes, and the blood of a brutal alien race. When he looked in the mirror, “beautiful” was not the word he would choose to describe himself. “Lonely” or “broken” or “bruised” were better.
Or, on some level, Keith doesn't want to allow himself to love someone. However, a certain purple alien is really good at messing up people's plans, especially since he sees Keith as the gorgeous, dynamite man he is. Keith doesn't get it. He really doesn't.

Lotor crossed the room and sank to the ground next to him. He shot him a concerned look.
“You don’t seem fine,” he remarked.
Lotor is worried about Keith, and he has good reason to. Keith doesn’t want to trust him, but he doesn’t always get what he wants.

Not much changed at the Garrison. Shiro had been the only constant in his life but he didn't mind. He didn't ask for more.Until Shiro disappeared during a space mission to Kerberos.
Now at 18, he finds himself all alone in space, rejected by his team and his Lion. His Mentor/brother missing or probably dead. With no purpose in life anymore, he lay down on the floor of the old pod accepting whatever fate had in store for him.

But he has a couple of people to yell at first.

In which Keith is socially awkward, and Lance just really wants to be close to him.

The lighting has dimmed a little as the planet’s sun sinks below the horizon outside, but Lance can still see the flecks of silver in Keith’s eyes; the few, faint freckles across his cheekbones — he’s infuriatingly pretty, and Lance hates it.
The music has slowed even further, now, and Keith relaxes to its soft rhythm, tucking himself closer to Lance. His hair is so long where it falls over his eyes that Lance is practically breathing it in, and in a moment of mindless impulse he takes his hand from Keith’s waist and brushes it back so that he can’t hide his face behind it.
Keith squints at him, and Lance flushes. “It’s like dancing with a mop.” He grumbles, and Keith snorts.
