    It was bad enough that the mystery novel Shen Yuan had been reading upon his death featured a terrible love triangle, but now here he is, playing one of the leads. On one side there is Yue Qingyuan, Advisor to the Magistrate, peerless and kind. On the other there is Shen Qingqiu, a lawyer of the county and probably one the most jealous and vindictive men to ever be written.

    And Shen Yuan? The Magistrate at the center.

    Between a mysterious curse and trying not to get stabbed in the night, Shen Yuan must use his wits to survive this stupid novel. If he fails, who knows just how Shen Qingqiu will manage to kill him for "stealing his man"?

What he didn’t realize, however, was that said guilt would start a chain of events that would end with the one and only Peerless Cucumber thinking that the ‘Great Master’ Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky was a theater kid.

    Or: Shang Qinghua told his fellow Peak Lords that Shen Jiu was composing EPIC: The Musical and now he has to live with the consequences.

    I love the parallels to Shen Jiu’s past as they work on EPIC and the bonding that Shen Jiu and Shang Qinghua developed, along with the other bond with the side characters too.
    I’ll write more later I’m tired.
