Summary
Hornet completed her hunt.
She knew what the consequences would be, but it mattered not.
There was no other way out.
With the slaying of a God, a new one must rise in its place. One to bear the weight of its existence, to understand the depths of its power, to take unto itself the responsibility that it shirked.
The world beneath it had suffered its whims, the people it should have uplifted had become nothing but puppets dancing on strings. Dragged from her home, she bore witness to it all, every last bit of the madness and suffering that had gripped the Haunted lands. And so, she had no choice.
And so, Hornet, was Godling no more.
And if she was to be a God...
Then, she intended to live up to the title, unlike those many that had come before.

He could've done better, killed more, or perhaps... stop their atrocities from happening ever again? With a plan to put into action, he leaps through time, retaining his thoughts and powers, intending to put them to use.

Sent to hell, one lone soul dies cold and alone... or at least, they thought they would.
With a warm, guiding glow, accompanying them into the afterlife, they die in peace. Except... they don't die, they wake up once more.
Alive, confused, yet curious... they continue to press onwards. Searching once again for the light that had brought them a desperately sought comfort in their darkest moment.
Or in other words, they're caught like a moth to a flame. Except... some flames happen to be sentient, in this particular case.

In the world of Araia magical creatures flourish aplenty, yet where there is life. Death is also commonplace.
Deep within the Grand forest powerful and mystical beasts are constantly present. Yet not everything can be on top of the foodchain.
Within this forest the weak and the strong live hand in hand. New life is born every day, and this story follows one such creature.
TLDR:fantasy with a non human mc of a race that you can probably guess from the title.

Summary
As a result of reading Okina Baba's So I'm A Spider, So What? I couldn't stop thinking about what I'd do in the main character's situation. It was fun, but also pretty distracting. In the end, I felt the only way to deal with it was to write it all down. To make a fanfic. Even though I have never written fanfiction before, and have a low opinion of self-inserts in particular.
I've put a lot of effort into avoiding the pitfalls, to ensure that this will be as interesting a read as it can be. No Mary Sues here.
So if, like me, you can't get enough of So I'm A Spider... maybe you'll enjoy the adventures of a sarcastic, pedantic Brit who has no idea how JRPGs work, trapped in a spider's body, in a labyrinth, in a world that runs on JRPG rules.
