The alarm goes off again and again, but Houss doesn't wake up — not that he isn't awake. He is, though.
He doesn't have the courage to stand up. He isn't ready, not yet.
He isn't ready to feel his jumping pulse everywhere. In his throat, which feels more suffocating than the ice baths his father made him take. In his head, that gives him the worst migraines ever. But they will go away pretty quickly, only if he's lucky enough.
If not, he's left with a heartbeat between 100 and 130 and a migraine for the rest of the business day.

Summary
Once Vox went by a different name. Not Vincent. A different name that brought him shame and tasted bitter on his tongue. Even then, some of his happiest memories are from when he bore that name. But now those memories are tainted by his current reality and rivalry with the Radio Demon.
Unbeknownst to everyone but himself, Vox and Alastor knew each other once while in life. It was a secret he had carried for decades but now as he lay broken in the wake of his defeat he couldn’t help himself to spit the truth back in Alastor’s face. The look of shock on the face of his once husband was the greatest present to Vox as he welcomed the promise of death with open arms.
His only regret? Not being able to see his daughter in Heaven one last time.

Huh. Could this be…? Psychology and psychiatry weren’t his specialty, but he had basic knowledge of the human psyche. And age regression with Chase’s background wouldn’t be out of the realms of possibility. Shit. He had to tread carefully.
House slowly walked over to the bed and sat down at the foot of it.
“Let me assure you that I’m not mad at you. You haven’t done anything wrong. But, Chase, I’ve got to ask you. Um… how old are you?”
Chase flinched hard and tears started rolling down his cheeks.
