Summary
Ryan LaRusso was so sick of being sidelined by her own family. Ever since she was born, when the doctors announced she had a weak heart, her parents began pulling her out of every activity known to man. It didn't matter that she'd had multiple successful surgeries; it didn't matter that the doctors had given her the go-ahead to resume her life as normal at age 7. To Daniel LaRusso, it didn't matter.
He put so much effort into coddling her and yet made no effort to actually include her in anything. He let her twin sister, Sam, learn karate. He let Anthony do anything his heart desired. But Ryan could do nothing other than observe her siblings leading their extraordinary lives, while she herself was reduced to an existence of studying and training in chess.
So when an opportunity presents itself for Ryan to do more, to learn karate, to free herself of the solitary her own family had resigned her to, she doesn't hesitate to take it. It doesn't matter that it is an opportunity to train in karate with her dad's childhood enemy. It doesn't matter that no one in the Cobra Kai dojo expects her to pull it off. All that matters is taking that All Valley trophy home. Unless Miguel Diaz beats her to it.

Summary
Other points of view of a universe where Lorena Beckett literally flips the script—correcting misunderstandings and creating new ones along the way.
( Just something that wouldn't leave my head, so I ended up drafting a little. It's not canon with Littlestcactus' amazing fic Bleeding Days, but I thought it was fun to write. )
