Summary
High above the world, a Virus from the outer reaches fuses with a voracious light-eating invader from another world, creating an abomination the likes of which had never been seen before or since, capable of spreading its blight across the sky.
In search of a solution, the gods ruling over the stars reach through space and time in search of champions to face down the threat, to restore order and peace to the world.
Problem is, when they found two candidates proficient in 'vanquishing a star-eating space virus', they perhaps should have read the fine print a tad more closely.

Iguin sits atop a pristine gold dome, a false sun ever-presently dawning. Shadows no longer tethered to their bodies flicker below on beautiful mosaic pathstones. Keys play childish, discordant notes, and he sways even as they play backwards. Should forbidden magic have been truly forgotten, he'd never have been able to marvel in its splendor. Nor would he be able to show this splendor to others.

or: In a new plan to teach Coco the ways of magic, the forbidden magic users teleport her (and by accident, a majority of her atelier) into the Dungeons of Fear and Hunger, all split up across the wide expanse of underground levels. Incidental and accidental, something from the dungeons was sent over to Zozah, too. Everyone changes, one way or another.

Summary
History didn’t end with a grand curtain call when the Beast of the Land cast down the Great Whale of the Seas. It choked as rivers boiled over and evergreen groves shriveled up. Cities of old sank into red dust, scorched by the merciless sun. They were waiting for closure, but there was no finale as centuries passed.
Life finds a way, as it always does. The Glass Walkers, a tribe of hardened nomads riding across the ocean of dunes, stumble into a cub, speaking in tongues, lost to the sands all alone. Perhaps it was fate. Perhaps one final joke to mock the survivors down on their luck with yet another mouth to feed. For as the traditions demanded, no orphan is to be left behind.
A blessing? A burden? Only time will tell. What is one fragile soul against a withering world?
