Summary
Her body moves before she realizes, her hands bringing the berries up to her mouth, gorging herself on them until she begins to feel sick. They taste sweet and metallic and as she bites down, a relief that she has never felt for a second out here in the Wilderness washes over her. Everything will be okay.

Summary
"Stop saying that."
"It's a rabbit. It doesn't know your name. It doesn't know Jackie's name. It doesn't know anything; it's an animal. It's going to get eaten the second someone decides we can't afford to keep feeding something we're not eating, and you standing out here every day, whispering to it as it can hear you, isn't going to change that. It isn't going to change what happened to her, and I think - " Nat's voice catches, just slightly, on the next part, because underneath the bluntness there is something that might actually be fear for her. "I think you know that. Somewhere in there. And I think that's why you're so mad right now."
Shauna doesn't answer.
She doesn't answer because there's a version of herself, small and clear-eyed and standing very far back from the rest of her, that hears every word of that and knows it's true. Knows it with flat, undeniable clarity. It's a rabbit. It doesn't know your name. It is not her. She is not coming back, not in a body that small, not in a body that can't talk, that can't apologize, that can't tell you it's not your fault, because nothing is going to tell you that, ever, because nothing ever does.

Summary
Peter often wondered about the atomic bomb.
More than most teenagers should, probably. Though most teenagers weren’t vigilantes either. In any event, his wonderings had nothing to do with his extracurriculars. It was only tangentially related, in the way he seemed to be able to detonate his entire life in seconds, in an exorbitantly bright and colorful manner.
The thing was, an atomic bomb didn’t start with the explosion, although everyone always focused on that bit. Humans always did have a fascination with things that killed them, and from a humanitarian perspective, the damage was what was important. But coming from a more chemical perspective, the explosion was almost incidental.
The real danger was in the preparation, in the way two things that were stable on their own could be forced together under exactly the right — or wrong — conditions. Not inherently volatile, nor doomed from the start, but close enough and aligned until a reaction became inevitable.

OR: Peter nearly dies, goes into a coma, wakes up, and then gets himself into a hostage situation, all while Tony is acting strangely distant. It is, objectively, not a good month for him.

Summary
The email came into his inbox on a Tuesday afternoon.
Congratulations Peter Parker!
You have been accepted to the Stark Industries Internship program! As a member of this program, you will get the opportunity to work on important programs among Stark Industries scientists. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow at 3:30 PM.
Thank you,
Pepper PottsNow, this was great for Peter Parker. More than great! It meant that Peter would have something to put on his college applications, and potentially a letter of recommendation, and it meant he would have an actual challenge for once in his life.
This development, however, was not great for Spider-man. Spider-man was being hunted down by the Avengers, which Mr. Stark happened to be a part of. And Peter Parker happened to be Spider-man.
OR: Peter Parker is interining at Stark industries. The spider that bit Peter had a few more effects than it does in canon, including but not limited to: fangs, way worse instincts, and an annoyingly sentient spidey sense
