Connor and him had been best friends for nearly thirteen years. He had known Connor was gay for about ten of them, and he had never had a problem with it before despite what the Church preached.
But when Connor started bringing guys home to their shared apartment, Kevin found himself becoming increasingly disgusted. He couldn’t figure out why in the world he was suddenly so upset over Connor simply acting on his gay thoughts, that is, until he realized that maybe he wasn’t as straight as he thought he was, and maybe that awful feeling in his stomach was in fact jealousy.

“Mordred is a god, Sire!” nodded Leon. Behind him, Merlin snorted.
“Anything to add, Merlin?” asked Arthur, knowing full well he did indeed have things to say. Arthur just wanted to sleep. He had had one hell of a day filled with back-to-back meetings with nobles and townspeople complaining alike. Being king meant he could never catch a break, it seemed.
“Merlin, you would know who Emrys is, right?” asked Leon, shifting his focus to him. The knights also leaned in, waiting for Merlin’s answer. He took his time folding Arthur’s clothes before finally looking up.
“Yes.”
“It’s Mordred, isn’t it?”
Another long pause and Arthur had half a mind to send his useless servant to the dungeons for the very valid reason of annoying him. “It is,” agreed Merlin and instantly, Leon’s head snapped back to Arthur.
Or Merlin will go to any length to make sure he's not revealed as Emrys. Any length.

“Come on, Merlin. I can’t exactly have my servant being better at something than I am, now can I?”
Or,
Three months after lifting the ban on magic, Arthur catches Morgana and Merlin practicing a spell together. After initially struggling to come to terms with, he asks to be taught a spell as a gesture of acceptance. He is shocked to learn that magic is hard, and Merlin is actually quite good at it. Who would have guessed?

At first, Arthur is so distracted by Merlin's absence, that he doesn't realize how everyone is staring at him strangely.
Arthur: Is something the matter?
Knight: Are you - Excuse me, Sire - You are so calm today. Is everything alright?
Arthur: Calm? How on earth am I calm? Merlin is gone!"

His terrible stumblings through the world of magic soon lead him to rumors of a man called Emrys. What happens when they finally meet each other and Emrys turns out to be unexpectedly flirty?

Aithusa is captured by King Sarrum. In order to make sure the dragon is secure and the realm therefore safe, Arthur gathers a delegation to visit the Kingdom Amata. Merlin, however, breaks as he sees the state his daughter is in. And suddenly, secrets are no longer relevant.

His teary eyes scanned all over her body, finding it worse than what Sarrum had described. Her claws were twitching and bleeding on the dirty ground. There was no water in sight and she looked thirsty while her eyes looked milky and unseeing. Yet, she seemed to recognise him somehow. For a moment, her gaze cleared and she nuzzled her forehead against Merlin’s. Cuts among her side, red coloring her white scaled bloody.“Merlin, what the hell are you doing! Come back here! NOW! It will eat you!”
But Merlin’s glare found only Sarrum’s who seemed more confused than anything. And that look, that innocence feigning, pleased expression, blinded Merlin with pure, unaltered rage. “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER!”

After third period, he lost his favorite pencil somewhere between the lockers and the physics classroom. The cafeteria ran out of pizza at lunch, and decathlon practice was cancelled.
Add in a want-to-be supervillain induced power outage at Avenger’s Tower while stuck in an elevator with the literal Captain America?
No. Peter was convinced he couldn’t have a worse day if he tried.

The room fell silent. Shane launched up and stood next to the editor at the controls, “Go back a few secs. Wait a second… There it is. There!” The footage paused on a wide shot of the ice, a ref had begun to skate towards Ilya, directing him back to his bench.
“Okay go forward just like, as slow as possible.” The editor did as instructed. “Shit, sorry, it’s so quick. Go back. Okay, forward. Stop! Look, right there.”
He heard someone from the crew murmur, “Oh my god.”
Shane’s voice broke as he ran his hands through his hair, “Yeah. So, now do you understand why I have to do this?”
