For the bard’s whole life, he’s had to dodge alphas who never got to claim an omega of their own before they all started dying off. In the years since the bard left home, Jaskier has learned a great deal about the way of the world, not all of it lovely, but he wouldn’t trade any of the bad to be a captive under his parents iron rule again. They’d done their utmost to mold Jaskier into the perfect omega: a womb for breeding and a pretty face. Someone to be married off to a rutting alpha lord who wanted a whole gaggle of noble babies.
Everything Jaskier has never wanted to be, and being the last of a dying breed has stolen so much joy from Jaskier.
He knew that it was only instinct that drove alphas to covet and endeavor to breed with the bard. But Jaskier was his own person, godsdamn it, and ‘no’ should bloody well mean no.
So the bard hides out in the wilderness during his heats, all alone, horny, and bored half to death.
And for years it works. Until by chance, Jaskier is found by an alpha in the middle of his heat. An alpha witcher.

Geralt has lost everything. Vesemir has betrayed him, so he can’t go home. Yennifer has betrayed him and taken Ciri from him. Even Roach is gone. He’s never felt so alone and he yearns for the comfort of Jaskier’s enduring optimism and incessant chatter. He has betrayed Jaskier, however. He cast him aside on a mountain top, lashing out at him with a vicious tirade which the poor man had neither expected nor deserved. He needed Jaskier now more than ever and if anything that bitch Yennifer had said was true, then Jaskier needed him now, too. Even if he won’t stay, Geralt can at least give him the apology that is long overdue. He owes him that much at least but he desperately hopes that he’ll stay by his side, where he has belonged all along, to help him to find his daughter.
I have received quite a lot of interest from artists, hoping to collaborate on a comic book version of this story. Much as I am extremely flattered by this, none of the major characters in this work belong to me and aside from this, I am not in a financial position to commission any works related to this one. Apologies to anyone who may have had this idea in mind - I hope that this doesn't detract from your enjoyment of this fic in any way. x

For one thing, Lettenhove isn't "home" - the last time he saw it, and the rest of his family, was eighteen years ago. Why is he needed there so urgently? Why is his life suddenly teeming with witchers? What's the truth about his family? Why is he in danger? Is there even a decent tailor in Lettenhove? And will he recognise real love when he sees it?
Jaskier is sure he can stretch three days to four, meaning he’ll be able to attend the ceremony at which he’ll be officially declared a Master of the Seven Liberal Arts, then disgrace himself thoroughly at the all-night party afterwards. After that, he doesn’t much mind leaving Oxenfurt. He’s not the type to hang around once a party’s over, and after four years in the city, he’s ready for new things. New people, new sights, new adventures. New things to write songs about, and new audiences to sing them to. New loves, new beds, new pleasures. He’s already bought a horse and ordered a travelling wardrobe, and while he didn’t intend Lettenhove to be the first stop on the fascinating journey of the rest of his life, it might as well be.

What he expected to see when he walked into the room was Thorin looking over documents. Maybe the television would be on but with the volume turned low. His suitcase might be set on a rack or even on top of a dresser with some of his things neatly lined up next to it or in the drawers.
Possibly, it would be sitting on one of the beds.
What Bilbo found, however, was not that.
Sure, Thorin was there. He was reading through documents and looked quite fetching in his glasses. He did have his suitcase sitting neatly to the side with only a few things out.
But the detail, the small little detail that really drew Bilbo’s attention wasn’t any of that.
It was the single king-sized bed.
Or! Gandalf sends two of his employees on a trip to negotiate an important deal. And they do! They do their jobs. But shenanigans also occur.

He’s ridiculous, and fuck Logan does love him.
