Summary
After killing her abusive mother in a fit of rage, Ruby finds herself in Hell. She is taken in by Rosie, the matriarch of Cannibal Town, and sent off to the Hazbin Hotel under the watch of Alastor, a powerful overlord known for his radio show that broadcasts the screams of those he torments.
Ruby is slow to grow accustomed to her afterlife, still carrying the baggage of her life on Earth, struggling to come to terms with her more violent nature that she explores under Alastor's guidance. Unbeknown to her, Rosie chose her for a reason, pushing Alastor towards Ruby at every chance she gets.
Ruby finds herself growing fond of Alastor and wanting to stay in Hell though it means never seeing any of the people she cares about from her life on Earth again. Though it's hard to admit, he enjoys her presence at the hotel, finding himself looking forward to the time he spends pushing her toward the violence in her spirit that she fights so hard against. But how can one so used to being alone accept the change Rosie suggests?

Amaryllis, a flower of poison and a symbol of pride, vanity, and determination.
Deer, an animal preyed upon and a symbol of gentleness, grace, and innocence.
An overlord striking fear into the hearts of many, holding the features of antlers and hooves. The other— an innocent sinner, a light within the dim, holding the glow of poison. Mockingly cruel how they were polar opposites of their respective ideograms.
The holder of those ideograms had met twice; once in life, becoming great friends. Twice in death, non-recognising of the other. The deer's heart held hatred for the flower, the flower not seeing the rage. It held no poison, yet the deer believed it did.
Of course, a negative and a positive often equals a negative... unless it were in the condition of addition with the positive number overriding the negative number.

Summary
Angel Dust never thought he'd have a partner, or at least one he was happy with. In his life, the world hadn't been ready for his orientation. And even if it had, his family would've never approved. He would've probably been fated to an arranged marriage where he'd just pray he and his wife could quietly cheat on each other. In his afterlife, it had been almost ridiculous to consider a real relationship. Sinners aren't exactly here because of pure intentions.
So, he feels incredibly lucky to have found something so rare, especially with someone who can provide him with so much. Of course, there's the wealth, the gifts, the drugs. Angel would never say he wasn't materialistic. But Val also provides him with things he never expected to find - security, belonging, affection. He feels like the luckiest man in hell.
