Draco is terrified. To go home, to speak to his dad, but most of all for his friends. Draco's friends are his family, he'd trust them with anything. They're his safe space and while, yes, they've had ups and downs, they're still family to him. Blaise can be an arsehole, Pansy a gossip, but they're his. They're loyal to him, just as much as he’s completely faithful to them. But, how far they'd go for him worries him. Their parents would disapprove of them casting loyalties to Draco, and he knows they would if faced with that choice.
So, he's just gonna deal with everything himself. He'll risk his own life to make it happen– sure, he'd like to avoid it getting that far, but he's okay with that outcome. For them, he would do anything.
Draco will protect the ones he loves; he'll be his own side in the war.
Or;
Draco had an interesting little summer. He learned a couple of things and came to a new way of thinking. And after this, he wants to protect his friends. He is on his own side of the war, with his friends who have no clue what's happening (for their own good of course).What could possibly go wrong?

Barnes snorts. “Having a drink,” he says, then gives Clint another one of those appraising looks. “You a professional?” he says, after a second, and Clint is momentarily confused.

And then he realizes Barnes must be talking about pool, and Clint huffs a laugh. “Only when there’s money involved,” he says, smirking, and Barnes kind of nods, like that makes any sort of sense.
Then Barnes nods again, a little more firmly, and says “You got a place?”
Which is about the point that Clint realizes that he’s not meeting the Winter Soldier in a bar, he’s being picked up by the Winter Soldier in a bar and-
“Yeah,” he croaks, clears his throat, thinks wildly that he’s really fucking glad Kate has Lucky for a few days, and says “Yeah, I got a place.”
Or, how Bucky got his groove back.
