Peter Parker has been fighting crime for four years. Two years after donning the mask for the first time, the Avengers are born, and Peter learns quickly that he and the other heroes do not get along. At all. After being approached by Nicholas J. Fury with a request for help on a secret mission, Peter makes the reluctant decision to help them, no matter his personal feelings about the heroes, because Peter Parker swore to himself a long time ago that he would never run away again. Not from drug dealers, not from muggers, not from aliens or tyrants, and not even the Avengers.
When this secret mission turns out to be more dangerous that any of them expected it to be, and Peter ends up in captivity with no way out, no one to call, and no one to talk to but the six people he dislikes most in the world, he takes it upon himself to not only get them all out alive, but to turn the Avengers into the heroes they were meant to be: not perfect soldiers, but good people. Along the way, Peter realizes that not everyone can be changed, and not everyone can be saved.
He just hopes he can escape in time to ask MJ to prom.
