The man slumped against the alley wall looked like he’d barely made it out of a cursed battlefield. His lip was split, bruises already blooming across his cheekbones like ink in water. His knuckles were raw, skin peeled back in angry red gashes, shredded like parchment. And beneath it all, faint traces of lingering magic crackled against his skin, unstable, uncontrolled.
Draco stepped forward before he even realized what he was doing, fingers already reaching for the wand tucked into his healer’s robes. Then the man shifted, blinking up at him, and Draco froze.
Potter.
Of bloody course.
“Malfoy,” Potter croaked, voice rough. “Fancy seeing you here.”

Summary
Eighth year was meant to be a chance to rebuild.
For Draco Malfoy, it feels more like a sentence.
He returns to Hogwarts as the only Slytherin who bothered to come back, forced into a shared dormitory designed to “promote unity” with students who have every reason to hate him. Including Harry Potter.
Draco keeps his head down. Potter, unfortunately, does not.

This is very much an ode to chaos, smut and found family. For all the adventures along the way, no matter how hysterical or dark they may be. For choosing to believe they could have a future filled with love and freedom. For the knowledge that they would fight for that future no matter the cost. For all the banter, and all the tears.
This is predominantly a Dramione fic, however as time goes on we do get some other infrequent POVs.I'll update the tags as I go.
