Belatedly, Tommy wondered if the reason nobody left the village was because of creatures like the one in front of him.
“I’m not going to hurt you.” The creature said, his mystical voice drawing Tommy out of his thoughts. “I only want to help.”
Tommy didn’t believe the creature’s words for a moment. He quietly shook his head, beginning to lift himself to his feet. His hands shook and his legs trembled, making him almost worry that he would fall.
The creature tilted his head, eyes glowing brighter for a moment before returning to their original light level. “You aren’t human… are you? The forest would’ve killed you long ago if you were.”
Tommy took a careful step backwards. Tommy knew that he was different, but he couldn’t be anything other than just an odd human. Not being human seemed like such a foreign and terrifying concept.

Or, Tommy is a kid living in a village where he knows he’s different than everyone else. When he runs away to the forest he meets Wilbur, a fae, who tells Tommy he is fae too. They become friends and eventually, they become family.

Summary
Technically following canon au (up to a point) where Techno just pops in one day, sees Tommy shivering. Goes runt mine, and Philza is just there. How to steal a Tommy, a step by step guide. He's possessive and wants his little brother what can I say. Poor Tommy doesn't even get to speak, he just kind of gets knocked unconscious and remains that way for like the rest of the fic.
He does get a pov paragraph, if that makes anyone feel better.
Or: Canon Tommy in his dirt hut, Techno decides to check in on Tommy but not actually interact. He sees Tommy. Things escalate quickly.

"We don't have to talk about that part," Tommy waves his hands to brush away that subject, "but seriously, you need to get more sun. You know UV's are only harmful in large doses, right?"
"Mhm. Look outside, do you see sunshine?" Well, no. It's been raining for the past week.
"Oh. Are you too poor to afford vitamin D? I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed!" Tommy snarks.
"Have you never thought that maybe somebody is naturally pale?" The guy asks and Tommy grins wide. Oh he's annoyed. How fun!!
"My bad, big man. I see somebody I could snap in half with the darkest circle under their eyes and I assume they aren't getting proper vitamins. Is it nasty to assume you haven't heard of melatonin either?"
"I see why Dick likes you."
"I'm sorry, what now?"
