Summary
Ursa may have been a lot of things, but she was not a naive woman. On the contrary, she noticed lots of details that people usually missed. Rubbing hands, discreet glances, strained smiles. So many gestures could be the tell for a lie. This was a particularly useful skill in the Fire Nation palace: it made her hard to manipulate. Her mind was a locked room to which the key was well protected. Unfortunately, that skill was not useful in protecting others from manipulation. That meant, when Ozai started pitting their children against each other, Ursa noticed, but didn’t know what to do.
____________Ursa cares more about Azula. She tries to distance her from her father’s manipulations. That changes some things.

The Fire Nation has been blessed by Agni. Everyone says so. Firelord Ozai’s firstborn, Azula, is the most powerful firebender who’s ever lived—despite being only sixteen! Surely it’s a sign that the war will finally end as Ozai’s daughter leads the Fire Nation to victory.
Unfortunately, Azula has more than a few issues with her father’s quest for world domination—issues that she’s about to make the whole world’s problem.

Summary
It wasn’t a true peace agreement, but it was a ceasefire. An agreement to keep to their own for a period of seven years.
But to ensure the temporary peace, to ensure that neither side went back on their word…the Fire Nation demanded an exchange of high-value prisoners.
“Wards,” Bato reminded him. “That character means ‘ward’. ‘Ward of the crown’.”
The semantics made no difference to Hakoda. It still meant his son would spend his next seven years in the Fire Nation.
OR
A treaty between the Fire Nation and the Southern Water Tribe sends Sokka to Caldera and Azula to Wolf Cove, where they grow up as wards. Culture shock and chaos ensues, but the peace agreement holds.
Until an Agni Kai and an Avatar throw everything into jeopardy.

Summary
Zuko was the son Iroh was robbed of raising, and Iroh was the father Zuko needed.
Iroh lost two sons in Ba Sing Se… imagine how he felt when one returned.
Iroh has his fair share of regrets. But these days, his worst fear is that his beloved nephew is on the path to repeating the same mistakes that doomed their family and nation for the last hundred years. But within the Crystal Catacombs beneath Ba Sing Se, Zuko is forced to make a choice that will decide not just his own life but the fate of the world. Azula gives him an offer he can't refuse where all his dreams and dearest wishes come true... and Iroh has no choice but to let his nephew make the decision that will change the course of the war.
What would happen if Zuko made a different choice that day in the catacombs? What if he ended up traveling with the Gaang across the Fire Nation as they prepare for the invasion? How would things have changed if Zuko had been the one who was supposed to die?
AU world where Zuko makes a different choice in the Crystal Catacombs. My take on a ‘what-if’ Zuko joined team Avatar at the end of Book 2. Basically, what would happen in Book 3 of Avatar: The Last Airbender if I was in charge.
