Summary
It’s not like he and Mecha Man have a close relationship. Every time the man speaks to him, it sounds like he’s a snarky teenager whose first job is customer service. And, outside of the suit, he’s not a very threatening villain. He’s tiny.
But there’s something endearing about him. After all, when you see a wet dog on the side of the road, you feel sympathy. You feel the need to help. That’s what's going on with Herman. Mecha Man is his stray dog.
His bitch.
It’s at this moment that Herman realizes he’s in the deep end. Multiple years of therapy are slowly unraveling from his brain as he reaches for the briefs.

“Oh? And who said you’re coming? Because it sure sounded like you didn’t want to come at all,” Robert smirks. “What, didn’t want me and Waterboy hanging out all by ourselves?”
“Eh? No, no, I just… think it would be nice to relax.” It’s a pitiful attempt to play dumb, especially considering Flambae runs hot enough that a hot tub wouldn’t even be warm to him.
“So you’re all- both coming over?” Waterboy asks hesitantly.
“Why not? I’ll just need a ride,” Robert says.
“I’ll take you,” Waterboy says softly.

Summary
“Stay safe,” he says, pressing a kiss to Waterboy’s cheek.
“See you after the shift,” he says to Robert. He then tilts the man’s face up and gently kisses his temple. Waterboy waves goodbye to him as he leaves. Robert stays frozen for a few seconds.
It was a tame kiss, much tamer than Flambae’s normal kisses. But that’s the thing that gets Robert. It was gentle, domestic, even. It was such a small action, but there was actual love behind it.
The kiss throws Robert off for the rest of the shift. Punch-Up makes a point of calling him extra quiet, and Prism asks if he’s ok three separate times.

“Give him one of your shirts, mine are probably too big for him,” Herm calls out over Robert’s shoulder.
“You’re barely taller than me. Besides, I’ve got more muscles. I’d rather he wear a shirt that's too long than one that's too wide. It’d fall off his shoulders.”
“Yeah, but that’d be cuter,”
“You know I’m right here, right?” Robert interjects, his cheeks heating up ever so slightly. He’s being called cute. In front of another man’s boyfriend. Is that not disrespectful?

Robert gapes for a few seconds more, before finally managing to croak out a soft “Did we..?”
“What? Fuck? Obviously,” Flambae rolls his eyes and brings an arm up, pulling Robert back against his chest. “Don’t you remember, you freak?”
“What?!” Robert exclaims, rolling off of Flambae and off the bed. He hits the ground with a thunk. “Ow,”
Flambae sits up on his elbows and peers over the mattress. “Nice ass.”
