Summary
Lucerys does not die over the waters of Blackwater Bay. Instead, something older pulls Aemond under. The body that washes up on the beach of Dragonstone a week later is brutalized and could barely be called a person, and yet Aemond persists at clinging stubbornly to life.
Rhynaera knows she has the pawn that could win the war. Daemon wants to spill Aemond's blood and send his head back to King's Landing as a trophy, but Rhynaera chooses to extend mercy to her half-brother. He is the key to ending this war, that is if he survives the night.

Summary
Most of Egg’s ever compounding problems are related to those stupid, giant, flying, fire lizards of the past, or, more specifically the fact that they’ve gone extinct.
Most of Dunk’s problems are related to worrying about Egg slowly losing it, so, when he hears his best friend’s weird psychic brother sleep talking of a woman who knows a way to prevent the catalyst to the extinction of dragons he does what any good knight would do:
He allows a time witch to send him 100 years into the past to prevent a war by… babysitting a bunch of questionably behaved teenagers in hopes of imparting some morals onto them.
Or: Ser Duncan the tall prevents the dragons from dancing and subsequently Egg’s death at Summerhall by time travelling to give the people who started it medieval family therapy.

Summary
At Driftmark Aemond loses his eye, but gains a dragon. While losing an eye sucks, Aemond doesn't really regret claiming Vhagar, only Vhagar isn't the only thing he has gained. The trauma and pain caused by the experience led Aemond to unlocking his hidden memories of a past life.
AKA Zuko reincarnates as Aemond and regains his memories at Driftmark, because I can't help but notice the similarities between these two and wonder how they ended up so different by the end of their respective series.
