With the pressure and threat of repeating R2, Trinity Santos starts charting at home after hours and emailing Baran Al-Hashimi to ask for help. They start out strictly professional and slowly bleed into something else. Emailing Baran becomes Trinity’s favorite part of her week.

“Yeah, I lost my balance,” Trinity says, her tone disarmingly casual, shrugging her shoulders as if to say “what can you do?”
A strange feeling comes over Baran, the corners of her mouth curving in the beginnings of an uncertain smile, an alarm going off somewhere in the back of her brain.
Over the course of her career, Baran has seen tens of thousands of cases, of which a thousand, probably more, have been standard fall injuries from household accidents. She’s also seen a decent number that were less-than-accidental, and knows that they are, unfortunately, almost identical to the accidental ones.
