“Oh, come on,” Grantaire scoffs, because 1) he’s an asshole and 2) having Enjolras’ furious gaze directed at him and only him is...something, to say the least. Intoxicating, if he’s feeling pretentious. And honestly, when is he ever not. “Pretty boy power prodigies like you benefit from this ’oppressive system’.”
“Grantaire,” Bossuet whispers frantically. “You maybe wanna, uh. Cut it out.”
He wants to do no such thing, thank you very much. He’s on a roll. But then he notices the telltale scent of smoke in the air. He notices the wisps of it coming from Enjolras’ clenched fists. Ah. Whoops.

Simon mulled it over before answering with ‘I’ll check with dad’, which earned him an unexpected call at 3 in the morning. ‘You call Raphael dad?’ Clary shrieked through the phone, adorably sleepy and at the same time ridiculously hysterical.
“Pssh no!" Simon said after laughing down the line for several seconds. "Lily is my dad.”~
The story follows Simon's new life with the clan after Camille has been sent to Idris. It includes music, clan shenanigans, reconciliation, love and comfort, a couple of serious conversations, Spanish telenovelas, werewolves, flirting and wooing with office supplies, protective Simon, protective Raphael, protective clan - everyone is quite protective, really - and a growing pile of original characters who don't appear all that often but are mentioned frequently because it's a huge clan and I can't keep using the same three people for everything, alright?
This is a slice of life rom-com sprinkled with insecurity issues and personal growth. A fluffy, feel-good slow-burn with Raphael being his usual gloriously irritating self and Simon being denser than a brick wall. So what if he doesn't realize they have been sort of dating for a while? It happens!

One scorned family in a town of this size and you have scorned them all, condemned on the tongues of wives and consequently in the eyes of all in their society. The man smiled, and Grantaire could read all of this in the expression. “It has been so long since we had come back to our house here, my wife spoke often of how she missed its charm.”
“I am sure you will find it wonderfully unchanged in its charm, sir. The years of your absence has had little impact on our good community.” Grantaire said. He could hear his father’s sigh.

"I need a favor," he says at last.
"With what?" says Grantaire. "Ooh, are you forming a cult? Can I join? I'd be awesome at cults, I just know it." He ticks off his qualifications on his fingers. "I love chanting, I look great in robes—"
(High school AU. Grantaire the disaffected stoner is pulled into a cause bigger than himself. Or: in which there are pretend boyfriends for great justice.)

This was the first Les Mis fic I read and boy did I start off good. I will always remember it for its awesome humour, beautiful portrayal of all the characters and the PINING, oh the pining.

Enjolras tries, he really tries, to not hold a lot of expectations for his arrangement with Grantaire. He thinks he's not wrong, to at least hope for this.
“Apollo,” Grantaire gasps into his ear.
It’s only the second time it’s happened, and Enjolras is still not prepared for it, or for the dread that rises up in his heart.
