Summary
The truth is that nature has been overly kind to Hades.
Not only has he been blessed with a classically handsome face and body, but he can also see aether nearly as well as Hythlodaeus himself, manipulate it better than most of their professors, and remembers most things after hearing it once.
After years of watching Hades succeed on the laurels of his innate talents—graduating with the highest honors even—it is almost a relief to find something at which he’s not naturally gifted.
Although Hythlodaeus does wish it hadn’t been this.

“Are you going to tell me what it is that has you so upset?” He sounded annoyed more than concerned.
The shorter man tapped his chin gently, as if thinking on the subject. “We were there much longer than anticipated. And with our masks off the entire time, no less.” He said gently.
“You don’t like showing your face to that many people.” Emet-Selch confirmed.
His partner shook his head with a gentle smile, looking at him out of the corner of his eye. “I don’t like showing yours to them.” He corrected.
