There was a version of this moment where Shuichi said the right thing. He was aware of it existing somewhere. He turned over several options and discarded each one in quick succession — what happened felt both obvious and wrong, are you okay was plainly ridiculous, I was just coming to find you was true but felt like the wrong thing to lead with given that she was actively bleeding.
“Kirumi, what—” He stopped. Tried to arrange his face into something that wasn't I am looking at you and not coping with it. “What happened to you?”
OR
Kirumi gets hurt by her father and afterwards escapes to the Hope's Peak Christmas Party. Shuichi is the one to see her first.
