Summary
Eddie let go of the loose grip he had on Richie’s wrist when they got to the corner of the room, significantly quieter than the rest of the party seemed to be, without any cameras around. He pulled Richie close enough that they were almost touching chests and looked around one more time before sliding his hands down Richie’s arms to grab his hands instead. Eddie took a shaky deep breath as he looked up to Richie’s amused and slightly confused face.
“You know, there’s better places for a secret makeout if that’s what you were going for, Eds.”

Summary
Realization quickly dawned on Richie’s face as he saw the Ferrari driver on the podium take off his helmet and shake the hair off his forehead before looking around and waving with a grin.
“EDDIE??”
Richie saw Stan slowly turn towards him, eyes wide and eyebrows slightly slanted before he made himself turn to look back and wince. He barely had time to register what was happening before Stan took him by the shoulders and pulled him close enough that no one else could hear what they were saying, an easy enough task with all the cheering going on around them.
“You’re telling me,” Stan started slowly, “that the Eddie guy you’ve been talking about all weekend was Eddie fucking KASPBRAK?”

Summary
There are men turning up dead in the woods, and Chief of Police Charlie Swan has a job to do—figure out what, or who, left the poor bastards torn up as they are. Chief of Police Charlie Swan is too old for this mess. Too old and too sick of this shit to pretend Forks is just a sleepy old rural town anymore. Between the gruesome corpses and the quiet, unsettling doctor Cullen who shows up like a statue in pressed slacks, lying through his teeth, Charlie’s got more questions than answers—and no one seems too keen on giving him either.
Charlie’s trying not to notice how his breath catches when the doc gets too close. He’s also trying not to notice how the bodies keep piling up, unsolved. Neither effort is going particularly well.
And if one more person tells him it was a bear, he’s going to shoot something. Probably not a bear.

“I love you, Pete,” Ray shouted over the din of the crowd.
Peter registered how sweet it was that Ray wanted those to be his last words, but only partially. He was too busy planning a way to make sure they weren’t.
A gun was levelled at Ray’s head. Peter threw himself fully on top of him.
“Wait,” he screamed, so desperate to be heard. By the gunman. By the crowd. By the Major. “Wait! I’ve won, right? Three warnings, he’s a dead man, I’ve won?”
The crowd quietened a little. He had the Major’s attention.
“I want my wish!” Peter continued. “I’ve won, you have to grant me one wish. Don’t shoot Ray.”

Pete tries his luck at cashing in on his wish a little early. As a result he gets a home and a family and a boyfriend who's recovering from two gunshot wounds to the stomach.
*The first ~800 words of this fic are fairly movie-specific, but I don't see why die-hard book lovers wouldn't enjoy the latter part of the fic if they're willing to stick it out.

Summary
Since she joined the Tornado Wranglers, Kate appeared in their videos with immediate regularity.
Javi, on the other hand, didn’t quite capture attention like Kate did. Sure, he was charismatic when he was featured, but he could never truly compare to the Tyler-Kate show. Besides, his interests lay more with the new technologies he could get his hands on, leaving him content to watch. And boy, was there a lot to see.
Or, Javi watches these two idiots dance around each other for far too long.

Summary
The scar was Kate's reminder that she was a murderer.
That even though the news and the cops and her therapist didn't have the guts to come out and say it, she had led three people she loved to their deaths. It was penance. Tyler touching her there... Maybe it reminded her that she'd probably kill him too.
So yeah. It was a good thing that she was having this little episode by herself.
(Kate's scar is acting up for the first time in a while. Tyler helps her through it.)
