Summary
Fontaine's final arc was one of the best stories in Genshin Impact. Focalors managed to bewitch us with her brief appearance and the fruits of her plan. It was great.
But, what if it wasn't?
Focalors loved humanity. Yet even when she yearned to become human herself, she was never truly one of them. She looked at humanity through rose-tinted glasses, seeing its flaws as something perfectly human.
In the end, she bet everything on humanity.
So, what if she never gathered enough Indemnitium to shatter the Divine Throne?
What if placing her trust in humanity was a mistake? After all, as Focalors herself said, humans are perfectly flawed.
What if, after 500 years of gathering Indemnitium, she obtained only a fraction of the amount she needed, and, as an immortal being, she was willing to wait another 5,000 years?
But what if humanity's patience withers before her plan could bear fruit?
With Fontaine no longer able to protect Furina from the enemies lurking in the luxury state of the nation of Hydro, Furina left the nation and headed to Sumeru, marking the moment the Oratrice come to a permenant stop.
