Summary
They found Buck in the rubble, broken and barely breathing.
What follows isn’t just a fight for his life—it’s a reckoning. With pain he never voiced. With love he didn’t know how to accept. With the people who refuse to let him go.
Eddie never leaves his side. Bobby steps into the space a father should have filled. Athena holds them all steady while the rest of the 118 tries to hold onto hope. Maddie is terrified. Christopher is too far away. And Buck—Buck is somewhere between the wreckage and the light, trying to find his way back.

Summary
Buck comes down with what seems like a simple flu—until his breathing gets worse, and worse, until it’s not just a cold. It’s something deeper. Something lasting.
A new diagnosis turns Buck’s world sideways, and it’s not just his lungs that need to heal. It’s the fear, the guilt, the stubborn voice inside telling him to push through alone.
But Eddie’s not going anywhere. Neither is Bobby. And slowly, with love, softness, and a hand holding his through every breath, Buck starts to believe he might actually be okay.

Summary
Buck survived the lightning strike. He healed, he recovered, he went back to work—stronger, steadier, ready to move on.
Or so he thought.
When the symptoms return—quiet at first, then impossible to ignore—Buck’s world begins to tilt all over again. But he doesn’t face it alone.
With Eddie by his side, and the full weight of the 118 behind him, Buck begins the hardest part of surviving: learning to live again.
A story about resilience, fear, found family, and the quiet, fierce kind of love that waits with you in the dark.

Summary
A drunk driver. A shattered cruiser. Two brothers caught in the wreckage.
Jamie Reagan walked away—or so he thought. But the real damage takes time to surface.
As Danny heals and the Reagan family tries to hold steady, Jamie faces a slow, painful recovery—one that tests not just his body, but his belief that strength means staying silent.
Hurt, healing, and the weight of being the one who stayed awake through it all.
This is a story about survival, family, and learning to breathe again.

Summary
“You’re my kid, Buck. I’m biased, of course I think you’re easy to love.”
And there’s something in there that Buck latches onto, and it wasn’t even Bobby bluntly saying that Buck was his kid.
Of course.
Of course I think you’re easy to love.
Of course.
Naturally. As might be expected. Needless to say. Obviously. Buck hadn’t expected himself to latch onto those two words, but maybe it was because Bobby had said them. And Buck hates that he doesn’t know what to do with those words, mouth opening and closing a few times before he decides that he needs more time to just think. Think of what to say and how to say it. “Of course?” Is what he ends up saying, and Bobby looks confused for a moment, trying to understand why out of anything that he had said, that was what the younger man seemed to have grasped. But then that confusion is gone just as quick as it had appeared, instead it’s replaced with a sad understanding.

“Buck’s a great dad. I would know, he’s my dad.” Chris sounds as angry as a teenager with a heart as big as his could be, Buck throwing a look over his shoulder to look at his son, the one that he would risk his life for. Had risked his life for.

Summary
Buck and Tommy haven’t even been together for two months when Buck starts thinking about ending things. He hates himself for it, a little. He can’t put his finger on why the thought crosses his mind as he lays with his head on Tommy’s lap while they watch a documentary about a Napali mountaineer’s quest to summit the 14 peaks. It might have something to do with the put upon sigh Tommy had let out before agreeing to watch it with him. Or perhaps it was the fact that his fingers didn’t end up carding through Buck’s hair until he asked him to do it.
Buck knows that he could talk to someone about it. He has plenty of people who would be willing to listen but each time he goes to say something he remembers how proud they were of him when they found out about Tommy. They’re happy for him and already have so many other things to be upset about. He’s made them worry about him too many times already; it’s better if they think he’s finally okay.

Summary
"Are you sick?" Bobby asked next while Hen reached over to place her hand against his forehead.
"He doesn't have a fever," she informed the team, Buck groaning as she tilted his face from side to side. "But he does look a little pale."
"I'm always pale," he pushed her hand away, growing irritated. He appreciated their concern, really, but he was fine. "Stop worrying."
"Says the guy who was struck by lightning last year," Chim quipped. "Face it, Buckley. We're never not going to worry about you."
