Summary
Anyone fancy a fluffy story with a lot of Crowley being protective and caring whilst looking after a sick Aziraphale? (Initially in quite a grumpy way, but we’ll forgive him as he’s worried. More fluff in chapter 2). Pre-relationship, but they already love each other, just haven’t admitted it yet.
Set after Aziraphale loses the coin toss in the Globe and heads off to Edinburgh to perform a blessing and a curse. He returns, later than expected, having found a creative (if not necessarily wise) way to help in a Typhoid outbreak.

Summary
Aziraphale rediscovers a poem he first read four hundred years ago. Includes wine, dancing, kisses and a promise of togetherness.
(Or I found a CD of Michael Sheen reading poetry. Made a GO edit to the poem, then had to write the story.)

And then there were those poems that spoke his mind for him as if a poet had examined his unspoken thoughts and chosen to act as advocate by giving them voice. Certain poems took his emotions and turned them into lines he wished he’d written; Gave his thoughts such a striking bell-like clarity that they rang out clear and certain in ways Aziraphale wished he dared to replicate.
The poem in front of him did exactly that.

‘I must say, I’m rather looking forward to this!’ Aziraphale said, wiggling happily in his seat with undisguised glee. ‘There really is nothing quite like the magic of theatre!’
Aziraphale and Crowley go to the previews of Pride the Musical in Cardiff (it's amazing, go see it!).
No real spoilers for the musical (assuming you already know the film Pride!) other than that it is brilliant.
I intended this to be pure fluff. Lots of Aziraphale getting excited about theatre and Crowley enjoying his exuberance. However, I never plan these things, they sort of just play out once I start them and set them free and every time either angel or demon hijacks it in a direction I didn't intend. So here it is, a bit more of a foray back into the 1980s, Gay Rights, LGSM, Socialism, Mark Ashton, the impact of LGBTQ literature and assorted other things I didn't expect.

Summary
Right, so, a lot of GO3 is beautiful, but I'm not buying it as canon. This is my fix-it fic that (I hope) acknowledges some of that beauty whilst also allowing Aziraphale and Crowley their cottage, their memories and absolutely everything else besides. Yes it's a classic cop out trope, but it fits ok... Why? Wait and see...
Some emotional hurt/comfort (not even contrived, it was entirely demanded by the story), introspective Aziraphale, lovely comforting Crowley, maybe even a tiny bit of humour to come in chapter 2.
I might add more South Downs fluff to this, but chapters 1-2 are a self contained fix-it. It is essentially just my self-indulgent version of the story so that I can enjoy GO3 without being broken by it.
Talking of which, I haven't seen any discussions about Asa's wish. Do we have any theories there?
