Summary
The Kira case is reaching a breaking point - either L proves Light guilty and sends him off to his execution, or he is sure to die himself. But there is also a third option - one which will involve sacrificing all the principles he has lived his life according to, everything that makes him who he is, and the very world itself.
To ally himself with the world's worst mass murderer should be an impossible thought, but L is all too aware that the world is made up of infinite possibilities. Nothing is ever set in stone. Light is the greatest mystery L has ever come across, and one that he is not ready to give up just yet. Not even if it costs him everything.
