Amane stared blankly at the letter for a few seconds before lifting his face to meet her eyes, she was looking back at him closely, attentively, as Nene waited for him to say anything. He felt his eyes water against his will, and he resisted the urgency to cry just by how much the letter made him feel. She felt the same, the whole time he was desperately pining for her, she felt it too, she was there too, all the lingering touches and the fateful encounters, she was always there feeling something for him. Every time Amane doubted himself and even questioned his own feelings and the quick progression of them, she was there. In every sigh, every blush, every laugh they shared, every cake or coffee or tea, in every walk they took together, every time they crashed into each other in the middle of the street, early in the morning, heading to their respective schools.
Nene had always been there.

Maybe he shouldn’t have pushed one of his more volatile students quite so far while playing as Sukea.
