It’s a bit ridiculous, really, how thrilled she was to receive Charlotte’s letter, how quickly she packed a bag and booked a boat to visit her. But she has never felt so known, so seen, in her whole life as she did those short weeks when Charlotte was warming her bed. Those few weeks of waking up beside her, laughing with her, fucking her, were the most wonderful, most hopeful moments of her life.
This is their story with a different ending, where Mary moves to London and these two hopeless lesbians tough out the hard bits and find happiness together.
