Summary
He can’t breathe.
The tail yanks, and suddenly his back is slamming into the hard ground, the impact detonating every wound. He feels it all, and it’s agony. Ripping, shredding. The worst pain he’s ever known.
His heart stutters and kicks in his chest as his mind screams at him to get back up, to run, to do anything to survive; but he can’t. He’s pinned down, spread eagle on the dead ground, a storm of wings and teeth closing in.
Red lightning flashes above him, bathing everything in crimson, reminding him that he is in literal Hell.
He’s being eaten alive, and all he can think as the pain starts to blur is, I’m not ready.
Please. Not like this. Not now.
Please.
And then, from somewhere above all the madness that has become Eddie’s entire existence, a shape plunges into the wild fray. A human shape. An avenging angel, wielding a weathered baseball bat filled with bloody nails like it's a prayer in the dark.
An answer to his silent plea.
Steve.
OR:
Eddie Munson survives the bats.
Steve Harrington helps him learn to live again.

“So, have you given the camping trip any more thought?” Ned asks, and he groans internally at the change in subject.
He'd much rather go back to talking about his non-existent love life, thanks.
The trip is during spring break—a four day long trek out into the wilderness, camping and hiking and gathering who even knows what, learning all about nature and the great outdoors.
But the real kicker?
It's an event specifically designed for fathers and their sons, which is something Peter doesn't have, and something he will never be.
Not again.

Or: Peter longs to have a deeper relationship with his mentor, a more meaningful connection; but he's managed to convince himself that the only reason Tony Stark spends any time with him at all is purely because of his enhancement.

Derek went stone-cold rigid at the provocation, his Wolf clawing at him, snapping just below the surface of his skin, itching to be released, longing to show this boy—his boy—exactly where he belonged.
“Because, silly me, I thought you were supposed to be something scary,” Stiles continued, “Something cold and deadly—violent and dreadful and feared.” A huff of laughter leapt off his sharp-wit tongue; and a smirk danced shrill and cunning through the flow of his sultry voice. “Hell baby, I thought you were supposed to be a fuckin’ Wolf.”
And that was it.
That was the end of Derek’s self-control.

Summary
Day 21 Prompt: Vampires exist and humans are outlawed from entering their territories unless having received a Golden Invite.
-Everyone knows you don’t go to Hawkins. It’s off limits both by federal law and local legend. Of course, the legend came first.
It happened slow, apparently. A man not quite a man took a ship to the new world. A man not quite a man made a name for himself in business best left in the shadows, made a name that others could not ignore, made a name that was mocked as new wealth and revered for the same and that is when he went west. He found towns, small ones. He injected life into them. He made them places of debauchery and sin. He bathed them in red and moved on to the next.
Until he found Hawkins and decided he would stay.
That was over a hundred years ago.
Now, it’s 1988 and Henry Creel was usurped a week ago.
No one knows what comes next now. If the red town licked with hellfire will wipe itself out from conquest, or ambition will simply make a new, worse creature in Creel’s absence.
And just because the government says one thing doesn’t mean another isn’t true.

When Dr. Owens handed him a card with Munson’s Monstrous Chords scribbled on it, Steve hadn’t expected to be parked in front of the rundown little music shop an hour after the ink had barely dried.
Steve runs his thumb over the name Munson. It was already smeared a little, because he’s impatient. And because his shaky hands are what led him here in the first place.

“Steve? Steve!”
Relief crashes through him.
Steve would know that voice at the end of the earth.
“Eddie,” he whispers, and keels over, strength leaving him now as he slides off the horse and hits the ground with a groan.
Eddie’s screaming. Yelling for his uncle, for anyone to help. His hands are on Steve’s cheeks, patting away frantically, then dragging him half into his lap, keeping his head out of the mud. “Steve, sweetheart, hold on, you’ll be ok, we’ll get you inside, keep those eyes open for me, you’re – oh, god, you’re bleeding badly.”

Post-battle, Eddie takes care of an injured Steve, and holds him to a promise.
