Summary
Not only had Lestat awoken the Queen, but his bullshit had also dragged a shitload of ancient vampires from all over the world out of whatever they'd been doing to pass the centuries, right into the heart of Montreal. They couldn’t all stay in the city while they put their heads together and plotted how best to save Lestat and deal with the apocalypse. Vampires had become somewhat of an endangered species overnight. And now more than ever, all these immortal freaks, from all corners of the world and all different eras, needed to set their ancient beefs aside and put on a united front for the sake and safety of all of them.
Besides, the Queen… well, she had kind of… sort of… flattened Montreal.
So when Armand piped up and said, “Daniel and I have a place just off the coast of Florida that we can use,” Daniel had to get real cool about a bunch of stuff, really quickly.

Summary
Daniel has never particularly liked hearing people call Armand "Mr. de Romanus."
It's pretentious. It barely sounds like him. And maybe some stupid, primitive part of Daniel's brain doesn't particularly enjoy his companion walking around with another man's name.
He keeps that last part to himself.
Mostly.
It's not like it matters, anyway.
Until, apparently, it does.

The grey-haired vampire flies through the air and tackles Armand to the ground.
“You broke the rules,” Daniel says. “We said ‘no vamp speed’.”
Armand bats his eyelashes. “I’m sorry,” he whines in a way he knows is less than convincing. “I was just so frightened.”
Daniel scoffs. “You know, for an ex-theatre director, you’re a pretty lousy actor.”

Summary
Daniel should be working on his manuscript, but instead, he’s as twitchy as a cat on a hot tin roof. He misses the gremlin—not that the gremlin’s gone anywhere—Armand’s down the hall in his lair playing mad scientist with Fareed.
Fareed.
He’s the real problem.
Fareed’s visits are making Daniel more jealous than that time Armand got horny for Stephen Colbert.
But this feels different somehow.
More intense.
More all-consuming.
More unhinged.
He figures maybe that’s because Fareed isn’t some unattainable celebrity.
Fareed’s a vampire now.
He’s also smart, cunty, and a looker with great fucking hair that’s almost as luscious as Armand’s locks.
The bastard.
