    Percy had, briefly, entertained a fantasy of a triumphant return to Gotham. He’d get a blessing for the Waynes and finally prove he wasn’t fucking crazy, and come home to Jason and get to know Dick and get a chance to try again and, and, and—

    And Jason Todd is dead.

     

    Years later, adrift after Tartarus, Percy finds himself pushed back to the city he once called home. All he has to do is keep his head down. This is obviously a flawless plan.

    Percy Jackson had seen weird before.
    Swimming in the River Styx to gain invincibility to fight the Titan lord of time was "weird".
    Getting your memory wiped by the goddess of marriage and family in a gambit to unite Greek and Roman demigods was "weird".
    Having a spiritual attachment to blue food was... well... completely understandable, no matter how much Leo joked about it.
    But this? This is "weird".

     

    When a battle goes wrong, and magic goes wild, the son of Poseidon and Hero of Olympus finds himself dumped in a world that seems strangely familiar. The Greek Gods are still around, the old myths were really true, all seems well. But one thing has changed: the people he's come to love.     Though Percy and Praetor Reyna got in constant fights, this was one area where she would stand up for him. “Octavian, give him a break. He’s just a kid, he’s never done anything to you.”

    “He’s never done anything to me?” Octavian questioned. “Or he's never done anything for me? I have sacrificed many bears over my altar, and all of them say the same thing. They speak of horror, danger; they speak of an unfulfilled prophecy. Tell me, Perseus—if that even is your real name—what quest did you go on and never leave, what duty have you failed?”

    Percy is tired. He has fought in two wars and battled in numerous quests. He is done being a pawn for the gods to use. Now finished with high school, the next step for Percy is college. Where else better to get away from the gods than Gotham University, located in a city where the humans are so crazy that no monsters enter. It will be a paradise for Percy. A place for him to relax in his retirement while attending college.

    It is a shame that Percy cannot seem to catch a break. As he navigates a new ‘normal’ life in Gotham, he soon learns about an unknown Uncle. One that has an affinity for bats. Looks like Percy’s family and world just got bigger.
