Summary
Everything about this is surprisingly natural, and that in itself is surprising to Phainon. He can’t remember the last time he had such a domestic moment with Mydeimos, what with the Flame-Chase and everything. In a way, with the sun warming his limbs and Mydei berating him in his unfamiliar tongue, the normalcy has an undercurrent of strangeness — not strange in a bad way, just the sense of peculiarity — as if Phainon has grown too used to their constant struggle for coreflames to ever think about settling down.

Neither of them speaks.
Alhaitham stands motionless at the edge of the bed, eyes still fixed on the fallen weapon. Above them, Mehrak hums contentedly, hovering like nothing had happened.
“Explain,” Alhaitham demands.
Kaveh has recently moved back in, but the relationship between him and Alhaitham is still strained. When he overworks himself and falls ill, it's up to Mehrak to defend his master against the evil Alhaitham.

They gravitated towards Zuko whenever the temperature dipped even slightly. At night, he often woke to someone pulling their bedroll towards him, or slipping under his arm, or turning over in their sleep and colliding with his shoulder.
It alarmed him, at first. It had never been a good thing when someone woke him in the dead of the night.
It was strange, then, that he was on the run without Uncle, officially a traitor to his homeland, and for the first time since his mother left, he woke in the night sandwiched between bodies, feeling safe.

After a while, he sits back, looking at Nahida. “Lord Kusanali,” he begins gravely, and everyone holds their breath. “I’m afraid… you have the flu.”
A moment’s pause.
“That’s it?” Wanderer asks, incredulous, and Tighnari shrugs.
“If you think about it, it was bound to happen eventually."
