A few minutes passed in peace. A record was playing quietly, Tessa realized, her eyelids starting to droop. Something instrumental and slow—J’s pick, almost certainly. The whisper of the brush bristles over bone, the rustle of J’s papers. It was enough to make her yawn, body growing heavy with impending sleep.
Tessa resisted. She wanted to keep playing silent observer. It was just so lovely to see the three of them together like this. This was… this was home to her. They were her home.
