Uther tires of Merlin's incompetency and orders him whipped when Arthur is attending to Sophia instead of the knighting ceremony. It's really not Merlin's fault that he accidentally used magic in front of Sir Leon - he's blaming that entirely on the poppy juice.

There are two versions of what happened the one where Violet watched her children and those dear them marry those that were there soulmates and the second version that lives here where the children find happiness with others.
