Ekko would never say it out loud, but pregnancy suited Jinx.
The woman had always been petite. Her attitude more than made up for her height and particularly boney stature. Whatever grievances she had about getting knocked up, she kept to herself as she wandered from the bathroom shaking a small, white pregnancy test.
“Looks like I should have swallowed that night,” she said curtly, walking up to Ekko and pressing the test against his chest. When he sputtered, she sighed, glancing up at him with an unreadable look on her face. “Ready to be a different kind of daddy?”
Ah. The perfect title for the book that he’d eventually write about this wild ass relationship he was in.

two full years he'd been away at university, the distance between noxus and zaun too great and his pockets too shallow to warrant any visits. this was better for him, too, as he was able to compress his expected six years and graduate before he even turned twenty one. hence the celebration- the entire undercity seemed to be crammed into the last drop, waiting in trepidation for their golden boy to arrive, to congratulate what many thought impossible.
in the beginning they'd written letters, called every week. then that became every two weeks, letters once a month, and less and less and less until she felt like he was all but lost to her. it had been nearly six months since she'd heard from him at all. she tried to convince herself that was the only reason for her nervousness, if it could even be called that.
it felt more like a parasite, gnawing its way through her body. what would she think of him now?
what would he think of her?

Summary
Ekko didn't know the exact moment he fell in love with Powder, but he remembered when, at the tender age of six, after Benzo had explained to him the concept of marriage, the young boy said:
“I'm gonna marry Powder when I grow up.”
But then Powder became Jinx and Ekko worked hard to convince his mind that he and Powder were never meant to be.
So it was mind-wrecking when he was thrown into a different universe that showed him that maybe his younger self was right and he and Powder were supposed to be together all along.
