The last time he saw Shane was at his house in November, when Shane unceremoniously abandoned him after sex. Two weeks later, a paparazzo followed Ilya home from a bar and snapped photographs of Ilya and a red-headed man making out his front entryway—through the fucking windows. The article ran on the TMZ website in the morning, and that night, Shane met Rose Landry.
He ran straight from the horrifying idea of being outed into the arms of a woman who had no idea what she was getting herself into.

Hayden sort of bristled at that. “I’m here.”
Which was stupid, probably. If Hayden was sick he’d want Jackie. But Rozanov was … well, an asshole. There was no way Rozanov would be for Shane what Jackie was for Hayden. Shane needed someone to take care of him, someone who cared about him, not someone to tell him that he’s boring and whatever shit Rozanov insulted him with.
