    Lan Xichen was already standing on the porch, waiting for them. 

    Nie Mingjue stood next to him, a beer in his hand, both of them waiting for Lan Zhan and Wei Ying to arrive. 

    He heard Lan Zhan get out of the car. He saw him walk around the front of the car to his door. He felt Lan Zhan’s hands cupping his cheeks, forcing him to look at him as he knelt down next to the car. 

    “Wei Ying, everything will be alright,” He wiped away the tear that slid down Wei Ying’s face, “They’ve been mentioning how happy they are to have you here, with us, where you belong.” 

    Another tear slid down Wei Ying’s face. 

    “But what if I mess it all up again?”

During the course of the investigation, they had realized that the culprits had mistakenly formed a time travel array. Somehow, the ensuing fight had resulted in them winding up in the array just as it was activated on its own.
