Her voice was weak, anxiety and dread flooding her shaky syllables. “If—if he’s dead, the curse… it can’t possibly live on…” Her heart thudded too quickly. Her limbs felt numb.
Malfoy's silver eyes danced between her own as his glare briefly flickered, as if in sympathy. He frowned at her. Hermione waited—waited—for him to explain she’d misunderstood, that she was right—a curse could not outlast its caster.
But in one small motion, the minute shake of his head, any of Hermione’s remaining glass fortitude exploded. The precarious fractures of glass gave way to an exodus of shards, icy tendrils following in their wake and drowning her in icy-cold horror.

When Draco begins sneaking into the library late at night, Hermione vows to stop whatever new evil he intends to inflict upon the school.
But perhaps Hermione Granger doesn't actually know everything.
