They were heading out to that bar they’d heard about. The one that wasn’t a sex club, but the rumour said that anything went - that the bouncers looked the other way.
Wei Ying was excited. He’d gotten all dressed up – under a light jacket, he was wearing a mesh tank top and a short kilt, reminiscent of a schoolgirl skirt.
He was excited, but he was also very nervous.
“What if I can’t relax and it’s not fun?” Wei Ying whined at Lan Zhan as they got in the car.

Summary
Lan Wangji walks forward, extending his senses for some sign of the magic confining them. But there is nothing. One moment, he is walking away from the village. The next, Wei Wuxian stands in the road ahead of him, the dizi tracing lazy arcs in the air.
He stops and looks behind him. The view has not changed. He stands there, helpless. Baffled. Like a koi circling a pond, eternally struggling to go nowhere.
“Messes with your head, doesn’t it?”
He turns to Wei Wuxian, who regards him calmly, almost pityingly. Wei Wuxian has endured this for months. Months. Lan Wangji wants to scream. He wants to batter down this cage and fly away without looking back.
Or while returning from a night hunt, Lan Wangji is trapped in a strange village that is terrorized by monsters. However, an intriguing cultivator named Wei Wuxian is also trapped there, so it isn't all bad. And guess what? They have to be roommates.

Wei Ying peers up at him through dark eyelashes. Huddled in his oversized hoodie, he looks rather like a lost puppy. A nasty bloodsucking puppy, Lan Zhan reminds himself.
“I need help,” Wei Ying says. “I need somebody to explain all this shit to me because all I’ve got to go on are a bunch of B-movies. So you, Van Helsing, are the best option I’ve got.”
Protecting the city from supernatural menaces is a burden, but field agent Lan Zhan has always borne that burden without complaint. Then one night, he meets Wei Ying, a vampire in need of rescue. A very pretty, very pathetic vampire. Lan Zhan will mentor this ridiculous vampire, but he is absolutely going to complain about it.
