Summary
Jean feels like her heart is exploding into a million little pieces, helplessness burning her up at a cool 15 million Kelvin. She sinks into the blood surrounding her and Peter, and heaves out a sob, forehead falling forward into their clasped hands as Peter's grip slowly slackens from her hold. Jean feels for a moment that everything around the two of them is exploding into a supernova. The death of the brightest star that Jean's stuck in the orbit of, making way for the birth of something else entirely.

Alternatively; Both Jean and Peter find themselves in Gotham through a sudden burst of seemingly otherworldly power. They're stuck being forced to adjust to a different lifestyle, attempting to find a way back to their world on their own, with no one to rely on but one another. At least that's how they would like it to work out. “Tim,” Dick interrupted with a whisper, “out loud. Read the name out loud to me. Please.”
Call it paranoid, but Dick needed to know he wasn’t making this up. That he wasn’t stupidly hallucinating a name that wasn’t actually there.
Tim swallowed, his grip on the card tightening. “Jason Peter Todd-Wayne,” he read, with obvious difficulty. Dick let out a startled laugh as he straightened up. He ran a frantic hand through his hair. “Fuck. Fuck!”
Tim stared at him. “This is… Jason’s old library card,” he pointed out and Dick nodded, perhaps a bit too fast.
Jason loses his old library card while on patrol as the Red Hood. He thinks nothing of it, as Jason Peter Todd-Wayne is legally dead to the world. In hindsight, he should have been worried, because his family are fucking detectives.
Or: How a lost library card ruins all of Jason's big reveal plans; and reconnects him with his brothers somewhere along the way.

It’s 10 o'clock at night on a Friday, and Peter should be out partying with his university buddies like a regular twenty two year old.
The only problem, though, is that he doesn't have university buddies. Well, not nearly enough to get invited to parties like normal people, that’s for sure.
And, you know, the whole ‘Spider-man’ thing. That isn’t helping his social life that much, either.
Or: Determined not to spend the whole rest of the night moping or throwing himself too hard into his homework, Peter decides to do the one thing he always does when he needs to feel a little less lonely.

Lost things have always had a habit of finding their way to Jason Todd.
While training with the League, it was origami animals that appeared among his belongings - small, carefully folded messages from a soulmate he had never met. Years later, as Red Hood, Jason breaks into Roman Sionis’s office and finds a masked stranger sitting on Black Mask’s desk, calmly scolding the crime lord in sign language after shooting him in the leg.
Jason doesn’t know his name. He can’t see his face, and he has no idea what he’s saying.
He only knows that the stranger feels familiar, and that Jason has never fallen for anyone quite so quickly.
