Akuryo; It might as well have been a name to him. Well, now it was, anyway.
All his life, Ren has known one simple fact: As a shapeshifter, he would never be welcome in the world, never seen as anything more than vermin at best, and hellspawn at worst.
But when his attempt to do the right thing lands him in more trouble than he realized, he decides that what seemed like a fatal mistake might be his last chance to leave everything behind. To start over.
Simple rules are set: Trust no one, stay alone, and stay alive. Then, once the year is over, live a quiet life as a normal human.
But as friendships form left and right, fears demand to be faced, and the world unravels at its seams, there's only one thing that's clear:
Ren thought he knew by now what fate had up its sleeve, but it seems it's decided instead that it won't be that simple.

Summary

It happened at the tailor shop of all places.
Which was ironic, given the significance of the location. Their first meeting. The outfit preparations ahead of the Eden admission. New clothes for family outings.
Or maybe, it was a sign of how in sync they had become, that both of them thought to sneak in after hours, patch their clothes up, and be on their way home. Home from their normal, ordinary jobs.
But now, Twilight could only stare helplessly as the tears rolled down Thorn Princess’ - Yor’s - face in a look of utter devastation. He’d talked his way out of a lot of difficult situations, but he had a sinking feeling this was not going to be one of them.
And his own heart shattered into a million pieces.
