Cloud squirmed, but not to get away. Instead it was to get a better purchase on Barret’s body, leveraging himself against the slick surface of the sleeping bag across Barret’s thighs. He got his elbows under him. The scratchy wool of Cloud’s top rubbed against Barret’s chest, he felt the hard muscles of his arms against him, but mostly he felt Cloud’s mouth on his; desperate, merciless, all teeth—until suddenly he broke away.
“I—” Barret started.
“Shut up.” Cloud huffed a breath, hot against Barret’s face. “Don’t talk.”
Barret and Cloud share a tent on the long journey from Midgar to Nibelheim.
