    Summary

The Battle of Five Armies ended six weeks ago.

Thorin lives. Kíli lives. Erebor stands.

    But Fíli never came home.

While his family searches desperately for answers, Fíli struggles to survive in captivity far from everything he has ever known. As hope dwindles and dangers mount on both sides of the mountains, the House of Durin must decide how much they are willing to risk to bring their heir back.

Or: Fíli survives the Battle of Five Armies, gets kidnapped instead of killed, and his family turns Middle-earth upside down trying to find him.

    Summary

Erebor is reclaimed, and all attention turns to Fíli. The future of Erebor depends on Fili, and with responsibility comes a betrothal set to strengthen two nations, unifying the house of Thror once more. But while his head belongs to the crown, his heart belongs to another, and some duties cannot survive the truth.

With all the attention on the first born prince, the spare feels abandoned. But perhaps loneliness can bring him a friend.
