Summary
The Battle of Five Armies ended six weeks ago.
Thorin lives. Kíli lives. Erebor stands.

Summary
Erebor is reclaimed, and all attention turns to Fíli. The future of Erebor depends on Fili, and with responsibility comes a betrothal set to strengthen two nations, unifying the house of Thror once more. The air outside the Prancing Pony didn't smell like the Bree Frodo remembered. It was sharper, cleaner, lacking the heavy scent of industrialized soot that had begun to creep in during the darker days of the War.
"Mr. Frodo," Sam whispered, his voice trembling. He adjusted the straps of his oversized overalls, his lion-like tail twitching nervously behind him. The tuft of golden fur at the end flicked against his calves. "The stars... the stars are all wrong for October. And the gatekeeper... he looked like a lad. A lad who’s been dead twenty years.

Frodo watched his uncle,young, vibrant, and completely unaware of the Ring, the fire, or the burden that would one day break his spirit. A fierce, protective instinct rose in Frodo’s chest. He couldn't let Bilbo go through this alone. Not this time.
"We have to get on that quest," Frodo said, his voice firm.

Summary
Bilbo Baggins, in the last days of his life, departed Middle-earth bound for the blessed realm with his companions. Until the Valar intervene. The Valar offer him a chance to change his fate, and with it the history of Middle-earth. He sets out to save the line of Durin and to prevent the ring from ever going to Frodo...but the Ring of Power has a will of its own, and its power is not one to be lightly thrown aside.
Another Battle of Five Armies fix-it, because we can never have too many stories where there is more to their story than death and grief. Though in this case, there is still some lingering grief. This timeline will be a mash-up of the book and movies, along with some lore and events from the later trilogy (LOTR), and assorted other Tolkien lore taken from various essays, works, and one very entertaining interview between Richard Armitage (Thorin) and Martin Freeman (Bilbo). Anyway, hope you all enjoy!
