    “Laika awake,” Rocky observes, in what Laika takes to be a quietly surprised tone of soft musical notes. Translating has been an obstacle she and Grace have found surprisingly difficult. Even if two humans didn’t speak the same language, their daemons could communicate a certain level of meaning and emotional responses without their humans having to get involved. Impossible, when the daemon of an alien was either absent or - as Laika deeply suspected - simply invisible.’

    Grace wakes up from his coma to find his daemon changed, his crew dead, and no memory of how any of this happened. And now, there’s an alien here too.

    Grace, Rocky, and Adrian spend an afternoon fishing in the biosphere. The water’s looking nice, and the miscellaneous Eridian wildlife (that Adrian painstakingly genetically modified and selectively bred to survive in a highly oxygenated, extremely low pressure, cold as hell environment) is practically biting at the hooks (that aren’t really hooks) already.

    Two years after Grace and Rocky arrive at Erid, they're back in the Hail Mary delivering Taumeoba to other stars in Erid's solar system. All is well, until they're pulled onto the Earth of a separate universe where superheroes are commonplace and Astrophage never dimmed the sun.

    SHIELD takes them into custody, and the saviors of Earth meet the saviors of the stars. But not without some road bumps along the way.

    (And as it turns out, Rocky and Grace might not be the only interdimensional travelers in the picture.)

    Rocky hums, a little confused, curious melody, “Why Grace have two heartbeats, question?”
